Nieuwe Streets komt er aan !

Ik kan haast niet wachten, het is bijna tijd voor een nieuw album van the Streets. Het laatste album 'The Hardest Way to Make an Easy Living' is al sinds 2006 uit. De voorloper A Grand Don't Come for Free (2004) en het debuut Original Pirate Material (2002) lijken duidelijk aan te geven dat 2008 het jaar is voor de nieuwe Streets plaat.

Als het aan frontman Mike Skinner ligt gebeurt dat ook, hij is al maandenlang bezig in de studio om de plaat zo perfect mogelijk te krijgen.
Het is nog niet bekend wanneer deze uit gaat komen, omdat Mike nog niet tevreden was over de sound en de cd daarom ge-remastered moest worden.
Nu is er gelukkig al wel wat materiaal om te beluisteren.
Skinner heeft namelijk een medley van 4 nummers op zijn MySpace pagina gezet.

Mike Skinner over zijn nieuwe album:


"I am working on this at the moment but don't know what it will be called. The biggest song on it, so far, is called 'Everything Is Borrowed'.
I know the title sounds like a Kaiser Chiefs song but I promise it will be better than that.
This album started off life as parables but then I realised that it might get a bit cheesy so I got rid of the alien song and the devil song and replaced them with more straight up songs.
I've pretty much kept my promise that I made to myself not to reference modern life on any of them though which is hard to do and keep things personal at the same time.
I am working very very hard"


Ik vind het zelf in ieder geval lekker klinken, maar ik ben dan ook wel enigszins verslaafd aan dat heerlijke accent van Skinner en ook zijn beats vind ik geniaal!
